Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) Transfers Private Cars, Shared Shuttles & Taxis to Central Paris, Gare du Nord & Disneyland Paris

Arrive happy with Paris Charles De Gaulle airport transfers & rides

You land at Charles de Gaulle, clear passport control, and then the real journey starts. Central Paris sits about 25 km to the south-west, and the A1 into Porte de la Chapelle decides whether that takes 40 minutes or well over an hour. Terminal 2 does not make it easier. Halls 2A to 2G are effectively separate buildings, and a driver told only "Terminal 2" is the classic CDG meeting-point failure.

Heading for a hotel in the 1st, a Eurostar connection at Gare du Nord, or the gates of Disneyland Paris? You book the vehicle once, and the arithmetic stops there.

A pre-booked transfer with hoppa takes both problems off your hands. Your driver has the hall letter, tracks your flight number, and waits inside arrivals with your name on a board. The price is fixed before you fly, tolls included, so nothing moves while you are still at baggage reclaim. More than 40 million travellers have arrived this way.

  • Behind each booking sits a network of 70,000+ vetted local fleet providers covering 182+ countries and 2,600+ airports and resorts, running on the same ground-transport infrastructure Mastercard and UnionPay rely on.
  • In France that means a licensed Paris operator holding your name, not a stranger at the kerb.

Shared shuttle from £22pp · Private car from £55 · Executive car from £79 · Private minibus from £95 · Free cancellation up to 24 hours before travel. Prices are indicative. Check hoppa.com for live prices.

Everything you need to know before you book a Charles de Gaulle transfer

Pick a topic to see the questions travellers ask most often about getting out of Paris Charles de Gaulle: fixed prices, vehicles, delays, deals, trust, and managing your booking.

What does it cost to my Paris hotel?

What's the price from the airport to my Paris hotel?

Prices vary by route, vehicle, season, and time of day. Enter your dates and party size above to see your fixed quoted price for the exact journey.

What's included in my fixed price?

Your quoted price covers vehicle hire, fuel, the driver's service fee (tips), tolls, parking, taxes, and any entry, congestion or airport-access fees on the route. There's nothing extra to pay the driver on arrival.

What's NOT included: what could cost extra?

Charged separately and disclosed before they apply: overtime fees if your trip runs longer than reserved, excess-mileage fees if you exceed your booked distance, night-time service fees on some routes (22:00–08:00), holiday or event surcharges in some regions, additional child seats beyond the first one (which is free), and extra stops you add during the ride.

Will the quoted price change between booking and travel?

No. Once your booking is confirmed, your price is locked. It's what you pay regardless of demand, season or currency changes between today and your travel date. Booking early is the surest way to secure today's rate.

Will I pay anything to the driver on arrival?

No. Your fare is paid in full at booking and covers everything the driver's owed: tips, tolls, fuel, taxes, parking. Bookings are pre-paid via credit card, debit card, or PayPal on the hoppa platform. The only reasons your final charge could differ from the quote are changes you make on the day (extra stops, route changes) or fees for damage or smoking, which are disclosed in our terms.

Are there night-time or holiday surcharges?

Some services include a night-time fee for travel between 22:00 and 08:00, and prices may adjust on local holidays. Both are always reflected in the quote you see before paying. There's nothing additional charged at the trip itself.

Can I tip the driver?

Tipping is entirely at your discretion. The driver's service fee is already included in your fare, so a tip is appreciated but never expected.

Do prices change for larger group sizes?

Rates are set per vehicle category, not per person. Moving up to a larger vehicle to fit a bigger party or extra baggage is reflected in the fixed quote you see at booking.

I think I was overcharged

Disputes must be raised within 14 days of the charge date by emailing customer service with your card statement and a brief explanation. After 14 days, charges are considered final.

Which vehicle fits my group?

How many people and how much luggage fit in each vehicle?

Vehicle categories include Sedan, Business Sedan, Minivan, Business Minivan, Minibus and Bus. Each has a strict insured maximum for passengers and luggage that drivers must adhere to. Default luggage allowance is one 24-inch suitcase per passenger. Bags larger than 24″ count as two pieces. Choose a category that fits both your party and your bags.

Will I get the exact car shown in the picture?

Vehicle images are for illustration only. You're booking a category, not a specific model, and we may upgrade you to a higher category at no extra charge if your selected one isn't available.

Shared shuttle vs private transfer: what's the difference?

Private transfers take you directly from your pickup point to your accommodation, with no shared passengers and no extra stops. Shared shuttles are budget-friendly and pick up multiple passengers on a planned route, so the journey may take longer but the per-person price is lower.

Can I add a child seat for my baby or toddler?

Yes. We offer infant carriers, baby seats and boosters depending on your supplier and route. Add the seat type you need during booking so it can be confirmed in advance.

How much does a child seat cost?

The first child seat in your booking is included free. Any additional seats may carry a fee from the supplier. The exact amount is shown in your booking quote before you pay, so there are no surprises.

I forgot to request a child seat: can I add it after booking?

Yes. Contact customer service as soon as possible to add it to your booking. Late requests are honoured subject to availability, so the sooner you ask, the better. Important: no refund or replacement applies if a driver arrives without a seat that wasn't requested in time.

Is my child seat guaranteed once I've added it to my booking?

If you've added the seat at the time of booking, it's confirmed with your transport supplier. Seats requested after the booking is placed are subject to availability. If a seat ends up unavailable on arrival because it wasn't requested in time, no refund applies.

Can I bring a pet or service animal?

Yes, at no extra charge. Notify us at booking so the right vehicle is allocated. Important: animals count toward the vehicle's passenger capacity, so a 5-seat vehicle with two pets has three human seats.

Do you have wheelchair-accessible options?

Yes. Note any accessibility need (wheelchair, mobility scooter, special assistance) in the booking comments. We work with specialised partners and make reasonable efforts to accommodate.

What if my flight is delayed?

Will my driver wait if my flight is late?

Yes. Your driver waits up to 60 minutes free after your scheduled arrival for airport pickups. For international flights, there's also a 30-minute buffer added on top, so your driver's free waiting period starts after that buffer ends.

What if my flight is delayed by more than 2 hours?

Contact customer service to reschedule. If we can't pick you up at the new time, the order is cancelled without charge.

What if my flight is cancelled entirely?

Your transfer is cancelled free of charge. Contact customer service immediately so we can update the booking.

What if my flight is diverted to a different airport?

Contact us immediately. We'll do our best to reschedule your pickup, though we can't guarantee a free transfer if the new airport is in a different region or significantly further from your destination.

Where will I meet my driver?

24 hours before pickup we send a final SMS or WhatsApp with the exact meeting point and your driver's contact details. Meet & greet at the arrival gate is available on request, subject to airport policy. If not possible at the gate, we'll assign an alternative meeting point.

What if I'm stuck inside the airport (luggage, immigration)?

Use the emergency number on your e-ticket to call the driver or local supplier and let them know you're still in the terminal. The driver will wait through their free period and, if reached in time, can sometimes extend.

What counts as a no-show?

Not appearing within the free waiting period and being unreachable for additional time. No-shows are charged in full and non-refundable.

Best price & current deals

Where can I find a discount code?

Active offers are applied automatically when you search. There's nothing to enter manually. To see what's currently running, check our discount codes page or our homepage banner.

Should I book early?

Yes. We recommend booking at least 24 hours in advance for the best vehicle selection. Bookings within 24 hours are subject to availability and may carry an expedited service fee. Booking early also locks in today's price.

Is there a low-deposit option?

On selected services and destinations, yes. Pay a deposit now and the balance before your travel date. If the balance isn't paid in time the booking auto-cancels and the deposit is forfeited. Note: low-deposit bookings can't be paid with hoppa Credits.

What is Refund Protect?

An optional add-on at checkout from our partner Refund Protect. If you (or anyone in your party) can't attend for a covered reason, you receive 100% of your booking back. Refund Protect's decision is final. See their full terms when adding the option.

Can I use hoppa Credits from a previous booking?

Yes. hoppa Credits apply automatically to your next booking when you log in with the same email. They expire 12 months after issue, can't be transferred between accounts, and can't be combined with low-deposit bookings.

Can I cancel and get a refund?

Yes, depending on timing and vehicle size. Up to 7 seats: free cancellation at least 24 hours before pickup; 100% charge less than 24 hours before. 8–14 seats: free at least 48 hours before pickup. 16+ seats: free at least 14 days before pickup, 50% back less than 14 days but more than 7 days, no refund less than 7 days before pickup. Approved refunds reach your original payment method in 5 to 7 business days.

Are the drivers vetted and licensed?

We only work with established local transport partners who meet our service and safety standards, and who operate under their own local licensing and insurance requirements. Each supplier is contracted directly by hoppa.

How long is the transfer from Charles de Gaulle to central Paris & nearby destinations?

A private transfer from Charles de Gaulle to central Paris takes about 45 to 60 minutes door to door, and closer to 35 minutes if you land mid-morning on a Sunday. The distance is only 25 km. What changes is the A1 into Porte de la Chapelle, which backs up hard on weekday mornings and again from about 16:00, and the Boulevard Peripherique after that.

Two things decide the rest of your journey time, and neither is the traffic.

  • The first is your terminal. CDG has three, and Terminal 2 is split into halls 2A, 2B, 2C, 2D, 2E, 2F and 2G that sit hundreds of metres apart. Give the hall letter at booking, not just "Terminal 2", and your driver is at the right door when you walk out. Get it wrong and you are riding the free CDGVAL shuttle between buildings with your luggage.
  • The second is where you are actually going. Gare du Nord and the 10th are the closest central arrivals. The Left Bank, the Latin Quarter and the 7th add 10 to 15 minutes because you cross the river. Disneyland Paris is the opposite direction entirely, out east at Marne-la-Vallee.

Your driver has your flight number and re-times the pickup if you land late, so a long queue at passport control does not cost you the car.

Prices are indicative. Check hoppa.com for live availability on your specific dates.

Which Charles de Gaulle transfer suits your trip?

The right vehicle at CDG is decided by your luggage, your party size and how late you land, not by your budget alone. A couple with cabin bags heading to the 3rd has a genuinely different best answer from a family of five with pushchairs going to Disneyland Paris. Below is how each option actually behaves on this route.

Private transfers from Charles de Gaulle to your Paris hotel

A private transfer is the direct answer to "how do I get from CDG to my hotel". Your driver waits in the arrivals hall for your flight, loads the bags, and drives to the address on your booking with no other stops. It is the fastest option once you count the walk to a rank and the queue, and the only one that puts you at a hotel door rather than a station.

Choose it if you are landing after 22:00, travelling with children, carrying more than one case each, or staying anywhere the RER B does not reach without a Metro change.

Private options from CDG to Paris hotels and across France include:

  • Standard private car: up to 4 passengers. Right for individuals, couples and small families going anywhere from the 1st to La Defense.
  • Executive private car: a business saloon, a driver vetted for licensing, insurance and service standards, and a receipt you can expense.
  • Private minibus or coach: 5 to 60 seats, so a group arriving on one flight travels together instead of splitting across three taxis.
  • Wheelchair-adapted vehicle: specially equipped, available on request. Book it early, because the fleet at CDG is finite.

Executive cars for business and luxury Paris airport transfers

Landing at CDG for a meeting in the 8th or at La Defense is its own problem. You need a clean vehicle, a driver who knows the Peripherique, and paperwork afterwards.

An executive booking gives you a business saloon, an English-speaking driver, meet and greet inside the terminal, and a VAT invoice you can claim within 30 days of the trip. It is the tier to pick when the transfer is the first impression of the trip rather than just the way in.

Shared shuttle from Charles de Gaulle: the cheap Paris airport transfer

If you are travelling light and are not in a hurry, the shared shuttle is the cheapest pre-booked way into Paris. You share the vehicle with other passengers heading the same way, so the per-person price drops sharply. The trade is time: expect stops, and expect a wait at the airport while the shuttle fills.

It works best for solo travellers and couples with one bag each, staying in a central hotel, landing in daylight. It works badly for late arrivals and for anyone with a tight dinner reservation.

Your travel style Recommended service Why it works
Solo or couple, Right Bank hotel Private car (saloon) Direct door-to-door up the A1, no shared stops and no meter surprises when the périphérique is slow.
Backpacker on a budget Shared shuttle to Central Paris Scheduled departures, one fixed seat price from an indicative £22pp, and your bags ride with you the whole way.
Family of 4–5 with luggage Private estate or MPV A large boot for suitcases and pushchairs, with child seats fitted on request — the first one is free.
Group of 6–14 (stag, hen, Disneyland party) Private minibus One vehicle keeps the whole group together to Central Paris, Disneyland or Versailles, with a route-experienced driver and a single fixed all-in price.
Larger group of 15+ Private coach Up to 60 seats for tour groups, French rugby weekends and corporate events, booked to match your arrival.
Business meeting in La Défense or the 8th Private car or executive saloon A quiet ride, a professional driver who knows the A1 and A86, and a VAT receipt for your expenses.
Wheelchair user Wheelchair-accessible minibus Lift-equipped and pre-booked to match your arrival, seating 1–6 passengers.

How much is a taxi from Charles de Gaulle to Paris, and is a private transfer cheaper?

A regulated Paris taxi from CDG charges a flat fare of about EUR 56 to the Right Bank and about EUR 65 to the Left Bank, per car for up to four passengers, the same figure by day or night, with luggage and tolls included. A booking surcharge of roughly EUR 4 applies if you hail through an app, or about EUR 7 if you reserve in advance.

  • That flat fare is set by the Paris prefecture, and it is worth knowing before you compare anything. Two things it does not cover are the queue and the guesswork.
  • At peak arrival banks the official rank outside Terminals 1, 2 and 3 runs long, and the fare only applies at that official rank. Anyone approaching you inside the terminal offering a ride is not on the regulated tariff, and the price will not be EUR 56.

The hoppa advantage

Set against that, a hoppa private car to central Paris starts at £55 with the price fixed at booking, so the exchange rate cannot move it and the meter cannot either.

  • Your driver is already inside arrivals when you walk out, waits 60 minutes free after your scheduled landing plus a 30-minute international buffer, and takes you to a door rather than a taxi rank.
  • For a family of four with cases, the private car is usually the cheaper answer once you compare it against two taxis or four RER B tickets plus a Metro change.
  • For a solo traveller with one bag going to Gare du Nord, the RER B is still hard to beat on price. Both answers are honest, and the table below shows the working.

Should you use a ride-hailing app instead?

They operate at CDG, but pickup is from designated bays rather than the kerb, you need a data connection the moment you land, and surge pricing at the evening arrival peak can push the fare above the regulated taxi flat fare. If you want the number locked before you fly, pre-book.

Transport option Indicative price to central Paris Journey time What’s included / what to watch for
hoppa private car From £55 ~45–60 min Fixed all-in price. Named driver waits inside CDG arrivals with a name board, door-to-door to your hotel, free cancellation up to 24 hours before your transfer.
hoppa shared shuttle From £22pp 75–90 min Budget door-to-door. Pre-booked seat, one fixed price, luggage rides with you the whole way — drops at multiple central hotels along the route.
Paris official taxi (Bianco G7) €56 Left Bank / €65 Right Bank ~45–70 min Paris Comune sets a fixed flat fare for CDG to central Paris licensed taxis, but pay on the day — drivers may add luggage supplements outside the fixed zone.
RER B commuter train €11.80 adult single (~£10) ~25–35 min Fast and traffic-proof to Gare du Nord and Châtelet-Les Halles, but drops at central stations only — onward Métro or taxi needed to your hotel with luggage, and strikes hit the line every few months.
Roissybus (RATP) €16.60 (~£14) ~60–75 min Cheapest option to central Paris but drops at Opéra only, with limited luggage racks and no door-to-door pickup. Slower during Champs-Élysées peak-hour traffic.
Arrivals-hall touts No fixed price Varies Avoid. Unlicensed touts in CDG arrivals at Terminal 2 often overcharge and are not licensed for airport transfer work — Paris Police Prefecture actively warns arriving passengers.

Watch the hidden cost

The trap at CDG is not the fare; it is the person who reaches you before the rank does. Anyone offering a ride inside the arrivals hall is outside the regulated tariff, and there is no flat fare to fall back on. Walk past them to the signposted outdoor rank, or have a driver already holding your name. Prices are indicative. Check hoppa.com for live prices.

Flight delays and schedule changes Book a transfer with flight monitoring and 24/7 customer support. hoppa tracks your flight in real time and adjusts your pickup time automatically, with a complimentary waiting time of up to 60 minutes once you land at CDG.
Terminal changes at CDG (T1, T2A-2G, T3) Choose a provider whose driver knows which car park serves your specific terminal. CDG is one of the biggest and most complex airports in Europe with three terminals and multiple sub-terminals. hoppa drivers meet you at the correct pickup point per terminal, listed on your e-ticket alongside the meeting-point phone number.
RER B strikes and delays Pre-book a fixed-price private transfer as a strike-proof alternative to the train. RATP and SNCF industrial action hits the RER B commuter train from CDG several times a year, leaving passengers stranded. A pre-booked hoppa transfer runs on the A1 motorway independent of rail strikes — no need to check strike calendars on your travel day.

Paris (CDG) airport transfers: Frequently asked questions

Should I book a private transfer or a shuttle bus for my airport transfer in Paris?

Private transfers are particularly popular among hoppa holidaymakers in Paris. With this type of transfer, you're given a scheduled pick-up time (found on the e-ticket), so you know exactly where to go when you arrive at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. When you choose a private transfer, it’ll just be you and the rest of your party in the vehicle. Your driver will swiftly take you all straight to your accommodation from the airport.

Our shuttle bus service is a lower-cost option that easily gets you to your accommodation. Unlike private transfers, you'll share the journey with other passengers. They'll probably be arriving on different flights so you might have to wait for up to 45 minutes before you set off from the airport.

Everyone on the bus is dropped off at designated points along the way and your accommodation will be one of these drop-off points.

How much does a transfer from CDG to Paris cost?

We work out how much the transfer costs based on where you're going and how many passengers you have. For an accurate price, enter your travel details in the box above and we'll display all the different transfer options.

Our premium cars cost a little more but are even more comfortable than our standard transfers. Our shuttle bus service is ideal for parties on a budget.

Please be aware that our prices may change from day to day depending on currency rates. However, when you confirm a booking with us, that price will be locked – so you'll always pay exactly what you agree to.

Do you offer airport transfers to Disneyland Paris?

Yes, we do! Disneyland Paris is one of our more popular destinations, so our drivers know exactly how to get you there quickly.

How much luggage am I allowed?

All our Paris transfers have room for one suitcase and one piece of hand luggage per person. If you're bringing more than one suitcase per person or have any special equipment that will require extra space, please get in touch so that we can make particular arrangements for you.

What should I do if my flight to Paris is delayed?

If your flight is delayed or your luggage has not turned up on the carousel, your driver waits 60 minutes free after your scheduled landing time. On international arrivals there is a further 30-minute buffer on top of that, so the free waiting period starts once the buffer ends.

As soon as you know there will be a delay, call the number on your e-ticket. Your driver already has your flight number and re-times the pickup automatically, but a call means we can send a different driver if the delay runs long.

If you are held up for more than three hours, you will need to rearrange your CDG transfers with us and contact your travel insurer to find out how to claim.

What will I find at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport?

As it is a bustling airport, there’s plenty on offer here for travellers to the French capital. There’s a wide variety of shops, selling everything from cosmetics and perfumes to jewellery and gadgets. You can also grab a bite to eat in one of the many eateries or snap up some duty-free bargains.

How to get from Paris airport to the city?

You have several options from Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) into the city, each with a trade-off:

Pre-booked private transfer or taxi: the most direct and comfortable option. A pre-booked private transfer with hoppa puts a driver in arrivals holding your name and fixes the price before you fly.

Local taxi: the official rank is outdoors and signposted at each terminal, on a regulated flat fare, though the queue at peak arrival times can be long.

RER B train: the fastest option on paper. Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV to Gare du Nord takes roughly 25 to 35 minutes and costs about EUR 14, with trains every 6 to 15 minutes until around 23:50. You will usually need a Metro leg after that, and several central stations have no lift.

Roissybus: no longer running. Ile-de-France Mobilites withdrew the route permanently on 1 March 2026 and names the RER B as the replacement. Any guide still listing it is out of date.

How much is a taxi from Paris airport to the city centre?

A regulated taxi from Charles de Gaulle to central Paris runs on a flat fare of about EUR 56 to the Right Bank and about EUR 65 to the Left Bank. That is per car for up to four passengers, the same by day or night, with luggage and tolls included. A booking surcharge of roughly EUR 4 to EUR 7 applies if you arrange it in advance rather than joining the rank.

A hoppa private car sits in the same range and starts from £55, with the price fixed at booking and no queue at the end of it. Your driver is already inside the arrivals hall with your name, so you walk out and go.

What is the best way to get from Paris airport to the city?

The "best" way depends on your priorities. For speed and convenience, a private transfer from Charles de Gaulle to Paris is ideal. For the most affordable option, a shared shuttle with hoppa is the way to go, or public transport like the RER B train is a great option too.

What is the cheapest transport from Charles de Gaulle Airport to Paris?

The cheapest mode of transport is typically a local bus service, such as the RATP city buses, or the RER B train. However, these options can be crowded, involve multiple stops, and may not be ideal if you have a lot of luggage. For the cheapest airport transfers in Paris, our shared shuttle service at hoppa offers a great balance of cost-effectiveness and convenience.

How much is the train from CDG to the Eiffel Tower?

Take the RER B from the airport to Saint-Michel-Notre-Dame, then change to the RER C for Champ de Mars-Tour Eiffel. A single fare is about EUR 14 and the whole journey takes roughly an hour with the change. A pre-booked airport transfer with hoppa does it door to door with no changes and no stairs, which matters if you are carrying cases.

Is the free Charles de Gaulle airport shuttle any use for getting into Paris?

The free shuttle at CDG is the CDGVAL, and it will not take you to Paris. It runs every four minutes or so between Terminals 1, 2 and 3, the car parks and the two RER stations, taking about eight minutes end to end, roughly from 04:00 to 01:00. It is genuinely useful for reaching your terminal or the RER platform. For the 25 km into the city you still need the RER B, a taxi, or a pre-booked transfer.

Does the Roissybus still run from Charles de Gaulle to Opera?

No. Ile-de-France Mobilites withdrew the Roissybus permanently on 1 March 2026, citing A1 congestion and a 40% fall in ridership, and points travellers to the RER B instead. If you were counting on the Roissybus for a hotel near Opera, a pre-booked transfer or the RER B plus a short Metro leg are the two replacements.

Where do I meet my driver if I land at Terminal 2?

Terminal 2 is not one building. Halls 2A to 2G sit hundreds of metres apart, so give the hall letter at booking rather than just "Terminal 2". Your e-ticket then names the exact meeting point for your hall, and your driver is waiting there when you clear customs. If you are unsure of your hall, it is printed on your boarding pass and shown on the arrivals board.

Can I get a child seat for my Paris airport transfer?

Yes, and the first one is free. Request it at booking and it will be fitted and ready when your driver pulls up. Additional seats may carry a small supplier fee, shown in your quote before you pay. Asking in advance is what protects the journey, because seats cannot be produced at the kerb on the day.

Can I cancel or change my Charles de Gaulle transfer?

Yes. Vehicles up to 7 seats can be cancelled free of charge at least 24 hours before travel. For 8 to 14 seaters the window is 48 hours, and for coaches of 16 or more it is 14 days. You can add a refundable upgrade at booking. Its price depends on the booking and the vehicle you choose. Where your booking is eligible, you can make one free change to passenger names, contact numbers, passenger count or luggage count. A change of route, vehicle type or pick-up point means cancelling and rebooking at the current price.

Is a transfer cheaper than a taxi for a family of four from CDG?

Usually, yes. A regulated taxi carries up to four passengers on its flat fare, but a family of four with cases and a pushchair often needs more boot space than a standard saloon offers, and a second car doubles the cost. A hoppa private car from £55, or a minibus from £95 for larger parties, is one fixed price for everyone and every bag, agreed before you fly. If you are travelling solo with hand luggage to Gare du Nord, the RER B at about EUR 14 is still the cheapest way in, and we would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.
